Ahead of the 2024 Local Government council polls as Scheduled to hold on the 5th of October according to the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), the Governor has adopted Actions Peoples Party, (App) as the official party to use for the conduct of the Election.
Following this, the governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has anointed and cleared the underlisted persons as his preferred candidates in the 23 Local Government Areas as flag bearers
Recall that the People’s Democratic Party, PDP and the All Progressives Congress, APC have declined there interest to participate in the forthcoming Local Government council elections
Those Cleared are;
Bonny: Dame Anengi Barasua, Omuma: Promise Reginald, Tai: Mathew Nenubari Dike, Opobo Nkoro: Enyiada Cookey-Gam,Oyigbo: Gift Okere, Ikwerre LGA: Isreal Abosi, Okirika LGA: Achese Igwe.
Others are; Emohua: David Chinedu Omereji, Phalga: Ezebunwo ichematti, Ogu Bolo: Oforibika Ishmael, Ahoada East: Chibudom Ezu, Ahoada west : Iyekor okporo, khana: Martins Nwigbo , Obio/Akpor : Chijioke Ihunwo, Gokana: Monday B. Dumiye, Eleme LGA: Brain Gokpa, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA: Isaac Umejuru, Etche LGA: Barr. John Otamiri, Akuku-Toru LGA:Tonye Onyde, Degema: Dr. Harry Agiriye
