Illegal Refinery: again, properties raised down in Rivers community

Properties worth millions of Naira were on Monday night, destroyed in Chokocho, Etche Local Government Area following a fire outbreak from an illegal refinery otherwise called bunkering (kpofire) site in the area.

This is coming Barely three weeks that over 25 persons lost their lives with properties in Rumuekpe, Emohua local Government Area, Rivers State.
A source said the site is located around New heaven Road in Chokocho.

According to a source who confided in our correspondent said the kpofire camp is allegedly owned by a police officer from Ogoni who resides in the community.

He is said to have fled the community alongside operators of the illegal refinery immediately he heard the authorities were coming to inspect the site and the level of damage.
