Rivers Crisis: Unknown Gunmen Abducts Rivers Board of Internal Revenue Director in Port Harcourt

An unknown Gunmen have reportedly kidnapped a senior director working with the Rivers State Board of Internal Revenue Service in Port Harcourt, Dr. Aribibia John Fubara.

According to eyewitness, he was abducted by six armed men who arrived at the Marine Base area of the city on a speedboat.

Witnesses reported that the attackers fired several shots into the air before seizing Fubara, who is also a Knight of Saint Christopher in the Anglican Communion, and speeding off to an unknown location.

The victim’s brother, Emmanuel Fubara, confirmed the incident, stating that the family had already reported the matter to the police.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Grace Iringe-Koko, also verified the kidnapping.

Details about the assailants’ demands or the victim’s whereabouts remain unknown as investigations continue.

The spokesperson of the state police command noted that the Commissioner of Police in the state has issued directives to the tactical units to ensure that the victim is released unharmed.

Iringe-Koko added that a manhunt has been launched to arrest the perpetrators.

“The command is aware of the incident, and the CP has directed tactical units in the command to ensure that the victim is released unhurt. A manhunt has been launched to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to book.”
