Police Arrests 3 Suspects For Lynching Alleged Bread Thief To Death In Bayelsa

The Bayelsa State Police have arrested three suspects in connection with the mob action by unruly crowd which led to the death of Mr Ebimotimi Freeborn, 32 years of age.

A statement by the Bayelsa State Police Spokesperson, SP Asinim Butswat on 11 July, 2023 revealed that three suspects, Miss Preye Mathew, 50 years, Mr Theophilus Tiro, 28 years, and Mr Famous Precious 22 years were arrested on 9 July 2023 at about 5pm at Tombia- Amassoma road after an angry mob lynched the suspect to death for allegedly stealing bread.

SP Butswat stated that the Command condemns the action of the mob and warn members of the public to desist from taking laws into their own hands.

The Bayelsa State Police Image maker added that the suspects are undergoing interrogation and would be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation
