Ecobank Resumes Collection of Old Naira Notes Nationwide

The Ecobank Nigeria has announced the resumption of Old Naira Notes Collection Nationwide.

This is coming barely few days the Central Bank of Nigeria Closed the window invalidating the old Currencies as a legal tender.

Announcing the resumption via there Verified Facebook page on Friday, 17th February 2023.

The memo reads;

We are still collecting your old N500 and N1000 bank notes.

Kindly follow the details steps below:

  • Visit the CBN website and register through the dedicated portal.
  • Take your cash after registering to any Ecobank branch close to you.
  • Maximum deposit allowed is N500k per customer (Based on your BVN).

This is coming after CBN directed banks to collect old N500, N1,000 notes from members of the public. Click Here to Start

It, however, pegged the maximum amount the banks can collect at N500,000.

Osita Nwanisobi, director of the apex bank’s corporate communications, confirmed the development to on Friday, saying “It’s just for amounts N500,000 and below.”
