We are hiring to fill in the following positions:
1) Fibre Planner
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
Plan access and core fibre routes to make use of existing ducts and where required new routes. To be acknowledged as 3rd-level technical competence relating to network fibre planning.
Responsibilities
- Plan and design of new access, metro and core duct and fibre routes, spurs and PoP sites entries, Fttx
- Liaise with internal Project Managers and 3rd party suppliers that ensure fibre networks are designed and deployed according to design
- Planning of new access and core duct and fibre routes, spurs and PoP sites
- Liaise with internal Project Managers and 3rd part suppliers for the execution of the designed plans
- Plan wayleaves and manage rights of way
- Assist with management & planning of the overall fibre network, including auditing and record management
- Assist other departments and lead and report on projects as requested
- Ensuring network design aligns with NetSuite as appropriate
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) in a technical field
- Requires a minimum of 3 years’ technical experience in the telecom industry with at least 2 years in network engineering, network fibre design or equivalent role
- Knowledge of platforms including Ducts, Fibre, DWDM (10/40/100G), OTN
- Knowledge in supporting TX equipment, i.e. Alcatel, Adva, Ciena, Infinera, Tejas Networks, etc
- Quality assurance auditing & testing, manage and mitigate the network risk register
- Optical networking experience including OTDR, optical link budget calculations, fibre types and testing
- Experience in Google Earth, QGIS and OSS systems
- Effective written and verbal communication skills evidenced by work history and accomplishments
- Excellent communications and soft skills, including the ability to listen to and summarise and concisely share key information with Clients
- Must use B/OSS tools effectively to record information accurately and concisely in a timely manner.
2) Field Engineer
Location: Uyo/Eket, Benin, Oshogbo, Minna, Ilorin, Enugu,
Job Summary
Provide field support, resolve incidents and assigned problems. Install, maintain and manage network equipment.
Responsibilities
- 1st Level 24/7 field support, escalation / on-call
- Proactive monitoring of equipment & facilities
- Network installation, testing & commissioning, bringing into service, integration
- Cross connects & jumping
- Maintain records, inventory and spares
- Receive equipment, bench test, storage and RMA return handling
- Incident and problem resolution as directed by NOC / TAC
- Provide Service Desk / NOC cover during an Emergency / Disaster Recovery event
- Assist Service Manager as directed
- Assist with technical shareholder support / shareholder consultancy and sales support
- Assist with network equipment vendor management
- Assist with network quality and performance management
- Assist with creation of ad hoc reports as needed
- Assist other departments and lead and report on projects as requested by the Programme Manager
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) in a technical field
- Technical certifications CCNA or JNCIA (desirable) or equivalent
- Requires 4 years of relevant work experience in the telecom industry
- Requires technical experience in the telecom industry including data centre installations
- Knowledge of platforms including OTN, DWDM, SDH, Data (Ethernet, IP/MPLS, OSPF, BGP)
- Knowledge in supporting transmission and switching equipment from leading manufacturers i.e., Mikrotik, Juniper, Tejas Networks etc.
- Experience working with AC and DC power as well as PSU units
- Ability to share knowledge and coach other team members
- Effective written and verbal communications skills
3) Field Technician
Location: Makurdi, Lagos
Job Summary
Proactively manage assigned Assist with field support by resolving incidents and assigned problems. Install, maintain and manage network equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Responsibilities
- 24/7 field assistance, on-call
- Proactive monitoring of equipment & facilities

4) NMC Engineer
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
Pro actively manage assigned network to meet quality and performance levels, resolve incidents and problems and manage planned engineering work.
Responsibilities
- Proactive management of the assigned subsea, core and edge network, resolve incidents and problems, improve performance objectives, manage security and environmental systems
- Ensure alarms are actively managed and levels kept to a minimum
- Planned engineering works technical planning and management through change management
- B/OSS & NMS systems & tools, implementation, usage, training & development
- Network release, accept new and changed network from Engineering through Projects
- Problem resolution, direct and control resources, technical, vendor and management escalation
- Mentorship & training of Operations team on technical competency
- Adhere to, lead compliance with and assist in developing company policies and procedures
- Assist other departments and lead and report on projects as requested by the Project Office
- Innovate, report on and continually improve on operational KPIs
- Manage and build strong partnership with the Network Operations Centre, ensure client satisfaction through high availability network targets
- Use B/OSS tools effectively to record information accurately and concisely in a timely manner
- Cover for the Network Operations Centre and provide NOC Disaster Recovery capability
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field
- Requires minimum of 1 years’ experience in telecom industry including experience in NOC / NMC
- Knowledge of various platforms including Subsea, DWDM, OTN, SDH, Data (Ethernet, IP/MPLS, OSPF, BGP).
- Effective written and verbal communications skills evidenced by work history and accomplishments
- Expert knowledge of at least one trouble ticket system, NetSuite desirable
- Excellent communications and soft skills, including ability to listen to and summarise and concisely share key information with clients
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
