Hoodlums numbering about fifty on Tuesday afternoon ransacked Eagle Island, Timber, Echue stretch of Illabouchi attacking and robbing passersby and shop owners we learnt.
We gathered that the rampaging hoodlums are members of suspected cult group whose member was reportedly hacked to death on Sunday night by a faction of the same cult group at one of the waterfronts in Mile 2 Diobu.
An witness, Peter Rowland who ran into the rampaging hoodlums told our correspondent that people were scampering for safety as the hoodlums with Machete and other dangerous weapons attacked and robbed people around the vicinity while searching for their rivals.
Our reporter who visited the scene at about 12:30pm saw Police Patrol vehicles such as Operation Delta flush belonging to Diobu Divisional Police headquarters Mile 1,and other five Police patrol vehicles.
SP Grace Iringe Koko,spokesperson for the Rivers State Police command told our reporter she would get back to him but was yet to do so as at press time.
