Procurement/Category Lead (Technical & Indirect) at Grand Cereals Limited

Grand Cereals Limited (GCL), a Nigerian integrated foods company that is engaged in the production and marketing of consumer food products

We are seeking qualified candidates to join our Team as Procurement/Category Lead (Technical & Indirect). You will be responsible to Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets

Responsibilities

• Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets
• Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings, utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods
• Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers
• Prepare and raise purchase orders and order schedules
• Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications
• Ensure compliance to company guidelines, procurement policies and procedures during supplier negotiations and contracts/purchase order award process
• Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement
• Provide analysis on costs for new and existing goods & services, and review cost reduction activities
• Prepare reports and updates as and when required
• Conduct research for new components and suppliers
• Compile data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation
• Assess and evaluate suppliers and contribute to performance reviews to ensure contract compliance
• Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues

Requirements

• Minimum of a HND or bachelors degree in social sciences
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in procurement, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
• Excellent numerate and analytical skills
• Good oral & written communication
• Strong interpersonal, networking and influencing skills
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Excellent planning & organizational skills
• Ability to work well under limited supervision
• Great teamwork spirit
