Comments has continued to trail the social media in reaction to a defection Video Clip of Governor Nyesom Wike making the rounds

This is coming barely after viral reports that a PDP committee had recommended Governor Wike as the running mate of the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar. An outcome many social media users have called a bad idea.

Some believe if both men win the election, they will be too busy fighting each other to develop the country. Others say the governor will function better as a campaign Director-General.

However, some Port Harcourt residents who spoke to our Correspondent disagreed saying Governor Wike has the capacity to occupy the vice-presidential position and develop the country if his party wins the election.

He said the National Working Committee is currently looking into the matter and consulting, in order to consider the best vice presidential candidate for the party in the 2023 elections.

“We have a process as a party, because we are organic. We follow through the processes. We recognize the importance of participatory democracy, ensuring that every stakeholder and organ of the party is involved in our decision-making process,”

“This is the beginning of the process, consideration and advisory body need to get to the level where, in consultation with the presidential candidate, they will deliberate on who is most suitable. That process is ongoing, so any report of a particular candidate at this point is probably premature,” he said.
