The family of Mr Edward Ekecareah who died as a result of stabbing he received allegedly from OSPAC member simply identified as Godspower at Chococho in Etche Local Government Area last week Tuesday is demanding for Justice.
Joy Edward daugther of the deceased victim on in an interview with Journalists disclosed that they also need help because they have nobody .
“My name is Joy Edward. He(My Dad) worked for a particular woman last week Saturday ,so the woman told him that she has just half of the money which was 6,500 naira. The work is supposed to be 12,000 naira .The woman gave him 6,500 remaining 5,500 and the woman told him that I will give you the balance on Sunday(last week Sunday) .
“My Dad called the woman on Sunday(last week Sunday) she did not pick.He called her on Monday(last week Monday) she did not pick so when he came back from work on Tuesday(last week) he decided to go to the woman’s place to demand the money since she is not picking his calls .When he got their,he met the woman and told her he came to collect his money and the woman told him is not yet month end,when is month end he should come and collect the money,that she does not have money now .
“My Dad said you never told me this from the beginning,you told me you are going to give me the remaining 5,500 the next day.My Dad asked the woman if she has conscience.The woman’s man friend who is an OSPAC guy was around .So the man came out an asked my Dad why will you say if she has conscience.
“The OSPAC man told my Dad to get out from the place and my Dad told the OSPAC guy he came to demand his money from the woman .My Dad told that if you are her husband put your hands in your pocket and give me my money let me go.
“So my Dad was already on the Bike that brought him to the place going, that was how the OSPAC guy stabbed my Dad from the back very close to his neck,the OSPAC guy removed the dagger by himself and my Dad rushed to the hospital .
The woman was arrested the next day(last week Wednesday) but my Dad died last week Friday.The OSPAC guy is known as Godspower is presently on the run.The matter is at State CIID, PortHarcourt now .
“We are demanding for Justice because we have no help .My Dad left behind seven children.Two is in the University”.
We gathered that the suspect (woman) was arrested first by Police Division in Okomoko then transferred to Police Division in Okehi from where she was transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), PortHarcourt last Monday(September 5,2022).
The Public Relations Officer of Rivers State Police command SP Grace Iringe Koko confirmed the incident while adding that Investigation is ongoing to arrest the fleeing OSPAC member.
