“That Premier College in Okrika has produced distinguished and wonderful personalities in the State; it has produced Senior Advocates of Nigeria, produced numerous Professors, Medical doctors of great repute, and across all the endeavours of life, they have made great impact and it has contributed in no little way to the development of Rivers State”. Governor Fubara stressed.

The State Chief Executive, who expressed gratitude to the Church and the entire body of Christ for the fervent prayers it has continued to offer for the success of his Administration, urged them to pray for peace to continue to reign in Rivers State.

In his sermon, the guest preacher, Ven. Richard Okpara, who spoke on the theme “Celebrating the Goodness of God” drawn from Psalm 23:6, said 20 years is worth celebrating, because God has done great things for Okrika Diocese, with the fast pace of growth experienced in the last few years of its creation.

He noted that for the Church to continue to grow, they must be just, humble, given to prayers, study of the word, and continue to love one another.

In his remarks, the Pioneer Bishop of Okrika Diocese Rt. Rev. Tubokosemie Abere (RTD) thanked the Rivers State Governor for this promise to rehabilitate Okrika Grammar School and prayed the Almighty God to give him the grace, the ability and the resources to redeem this pledge.
