Just In: Sen. Magnus Abe Emerges SDP Governorship Candidate In Rivers State.

Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, Former Rivers South East Senatorial District at the National Assembly has Emerged the sole Candidate of Social Democratic Party SDP.

Senator Magnus Abe was elected as the Governorship Candidate of Social Democratic party (SDP) in a Substitution primaries held today in Port Harcourt, The capital City of Rivers State replacing Mr. Maurice Pronen.

You may know that Abe, Former Aspirant of All Progressive Congress APC in Rivers State had resigned his membership of the party after loosing to Pastor Tonye Cole in the primaries held in May 2022.

Meanwhile, The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) In Rivers State has filled a suit at the Federal High Court Port Harcourt against INEC and the Social Democratic Party SDP Demanding the Court to to disqualify her Candidates for the 2023 General election.

Counsel for SDP, Femi Falana (SAN), in reaction yesterday said

“PDP sue the INEC, the Social Democratic Party and 15 members of the SDP. The sole purpose of the case, is an attempt by the PDP to be the sole contestant in all elections in Rivers State in 2023.

“The PDP is challenging the results of the primaries conducted by the SDP and I think the PDP is doing that to all the other political parties in Rivers State, with a view not to have an election in this state for any positions”.

“We have not filed our objections yet, what was taken this morning by the court is our application to enter appearance with a view to defending the case and we are going to join issues with the PDP very seriously” He Said.
