The chairman of Emohua local government area, Dr Chidi Lloyd has said no meaningful development will take place in Ibaa if the lingering chieftaincy dispute continues.

The Council Boss spoke on Saturday when he met with the chiefs, elders and youths of Omusunu-Ibaa in Emohua LGA.

The council chairman who expressed displeasure over the lingering chieftaincy dispute in Ibaa community, appealed to interested parties to sheath their sword and give peace a chance for the overall development of community.

The meeting which held in Omusunu community-Ibaa at the instance of Emohua local government chairman was a follow up to previous strategic meetings between Dr. Lloyd , security agencies and relevant stakeholders from Ibaa communities, as part of the council chairman’s effort to broker peace between parties involved in the dispute, with a view to forestalling the resurgence of communal crisis in the area.

The council chairman enjoined parties involved in the chieftaincy dispute to respect the ruling of the court of first instance on the disputed traditional stool, pending the outcome of the appeal at the appellate court.

Omusunu-Ibaa in their vote of thanks delivered by Hon Fynman Ohaka, commended Dr. Lloyd for his swift intervention and commitment to resolving the dispute in Ibaa community, with a view to bringing lasting peace in the area.
