The Social Democratic Party Rivers State chapter has clarified that they will not give their guber ticket to rejected party men from other parties who failed to clinch their respective party tickets.
Speaking in Port Harcourt, the State party chairman Solsuema Osaro made this clear after meeting with the party leadership in the State capital.
This clarification became necessary against the backdrop of rumors that top chieftain of Rivers APC and former Senator representing Rivers South East, Senator Magnus Abe is eyeing the party’s prices ticket.
There are indications that other top members of the PDP who were disenfranchised by Gov. Wike’s imposition of Mr. Sim Fubara on the party are also interested in the party’s ticket as a better alternative.
Speaking to an insider who spoke in anonymity and also a Candidate for State house of Assembly in an interview with our correspondent said their is a power from top behind the recent development.
He insisted that him and other Candidates will resist it.
“We will resist anyone who thinks he can deny us our mandate no matter how highly connected he is.
“SDP does not belong to anyone who thinks he will just wake up one morning to decide and change the mandate of party faithfuls who has laboured for long in this party.
“How can anyone do things without Consulting the leadership of the party in Rivers State and Run directly to Abuja.” He Said.
Attempts to reach the State publicity secretary of the party for clarity has so far proved abortive.
