Police arrest man for allegedly defiling a crippled deaf and Dump Minor in Rivers State.

Man identified as Victor has been detained at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) Port Harcourt after he was transferred to the intelligence department from Ubima Police Division for allegedly defiling a twelve year old physically challenged girl (cripple, deaf and dumb) at Ubima community in Ikwerre LGA.

The father of the defilement survivor Eze Eleonu in an interview with journalists explained that on Saturday 5th March,2022 he came back from travel and noticed that the door to his room was opened.

Mr Eleonu disclosed that on entering his room, he saw the said Victor staked naked very close to his physically challenged daughter who was also naked and he immediately grabbed the said Victor before raising alarm.

Mr Eleonu narrated that the alarm he raised attracted another man to his compound who helped in securing the said Victor before the arrival of OSPAC (local vigilance group members) who took him (Victor) to their office and inturn handed him over to the Ubima Police Division.

The father of the defilement survivor told Journalists that before he caught Mr Victor naked in his room he has been noticing blood stains on the pant and private part of his physically challenged daughter since he (father) is the one that used to bath her.

He explained that the medical examination conducted on the 12 year old girl indicate there has been penetration.The traumatized father called for justice adding that the matter should be charged to court without further delay.

As at press time our correspondent gathered that the suspect is being detained at SCIID PortHarcourt.

In the meantime, the Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign has called for a thorough investigation into the matter. A member of the group Gladys Onyenmwen urged the Police to tidy up investigation with a view to arraigning the suspect in court if found culpable
