The President General, Initiative for Transparent Strategy and Good Leadership as describes the commissioning of Satellite Campuses in Rivers State by Gov. Wike as deceitful
In a press statement signed by the leader, Chizy Enyi Esq which reads partly, says the Governor is wasting Rivers Money.
“Currently, Gov. Wike is on rampage of wasting State funds in organising commissioning of Satellite Campuses in some Local Government Areas of Rivers. The school buildings use for the said campuses were built by Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, yet Gov. Wike pretended he built those structures. No wonder, Gov. Seyi Makinde, during the commissioning of the Emohua Satellite Campus, said “I have been building a university campus for a year and nine months, yet we are just at the lintel stage and how you have been able to put these buildings together in less than one year, is a miracle. The management of the University will tell me the secret of how this administration put up these structures and we are commissioning it today”.
“It is on record, that there is a dead Satellite Campus of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education in Emohua Local Government Area, it will not be bad, if we have a full University not a satellite campus.
“It will be too bad, to celebrate yet another satellite campus in Emohua Local Government Area while the one already in existence is dead and buried.
“It is very unfortunate, Governor Wike has not deemed it necessary to decongest Port Harcourt and Obio Akpor Local Government Area as to enable the fast development of other Local Government Areas.
“It is disheartening to note, that the two Local Government Areas mentioned above, host all the great institutions in Rivers State ranging from University of Port Harcourt (Obio Akpor), Rivers State University (Port Harcourt), Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (Obio Akpor), Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnics (Obio Akpor), Port Harcourt School of Health and Nursing (Obio Akpor) and the recent Nigeria Law School (Obio Akpor).
“One might be forced to ask, if there is no enough land or space to host these Universities in other Local Government Areas in Rivers State.
“While Gov. Wike’s Local Government Area still host the main University campus and has over six major Federal and State institutions, Governor Wike’s distribution of just a faculty from Rivers State University to another Local Government Area, demonstrates both his hatred for other local government Area’s rapid growth and his extreme avarice as a leader.
“Remember, that Governor Wike allowed students to return to the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education’s main campus in his Local Government Area, while the University’s satellite campus at Ndele in Emohua Local Government Area was shut down under his watch.
“I, therefore, call on Governor Wike, to move the main campus of some of the State own Higher Institutions to other Local Government Areas if he truely desire the development of the entire Rivers State.
“May Rivers People, never allow Gov. Wike in disguise of His younger cousin, Siminialaye Fubara to govern Rivers State again. He said.
