University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital Free Surgical Outreach Holds 17th September, 2022

University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital was established in April 1980 and was officially commissioned by the federal government in 1985, it is a major tertiary-care teaching and research facility in Rivers State with the Department of Surgery as one of its major departments.

Presently, UPTH has in its employment 182 Specialist (Consultants) staff in virtually all specialties and subspecialties (such as Neurology and Neurosurgery, Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery, Paediatrics and Neonatology, Paediatric Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Endocrinology, Nephrology, Urology, Haematology, Anatomical Pathology, Chemical Pathology, Radio Diagnostics etc); 400 Resident Doctors (Trainee Specialists), 603 Nurses in various Specialties and 40 Pharmacists.

The University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital treats well over 400,000 out-patients per annum, over 10,000 in-patients per annum and well over 3000 surgeries per annum.

NOTICE FOR FREE SURGICAL OUTREACH

A group of Concerned Doctors In the hospital is inviting the General Public for a free Surgical outreach in the Area of

  • Cesarean (CS) for Pregnant Women
  • Goitar
  • Hynea
  • Growth
  • Appendicitis
  • Etc.

This was contained in a memo sent across which which reads

“Good evening Dr Sir, Prof, Drs, Sirs & Mas.
Happy weekend my great people.
We have free Surgical outreach next Saturday 17th September, 2022.

“We will be carrying out CS operations for pregnant Women, also men with medical issues that requires surgical operation, as well as children, goitar, hynea, growth, appendicitis, any kind of operation, pls come. Kindly Bring them.

“This is from Group of Drs from UPTH, among others.
You can reach me if you have anyone who might need operation.
