1. Console Operators (Gas Circuit, Refining & Utilities)

Job Summary

  • The refinery which includes the Hydrocracker, Hydrotreater, and fractionator systems, as well as the Hydrogen production unit and tank farm systems.
  • The gas circuit units encompass the Air Separation Unit (ASU), Auto Thermal Reformer (ATR), and Fischer Tropsch (FT) Technologies.
  • The utilities units include steam generation systems, water treatment and polishing plants, and power generation plants.
  • The role of Console Operator is central to safe and reliable operations in EGTL facility.
  • As a member of a larger operations team, the console operator controls and monitors GTL conversion plants in the Product Work up and Gas circuit areas as well as Utilities generation and distribution in the entire EGTL facility. 
  • This role ensures processes function within safe operating conditions while taking necessary actions to maintain reliable operations in the facility.
  • Routine collaborations with other operating units and maintenance stakeholders are necessary in this position.
  • The strict use of relevant procedures to execute work, and regular team communications are normal to this function. 

Requirements:

  • HND/BSc or Equivalent certificate in any Engineering discipline.
  • Successfully completed specific unit or Area Formal Operator Training program (FOTP) and fully qualified (QRB) as a unit operator for specific plant technology in a refinery or similar complex process facility.
  • At least 5 years qualified field operator experience in a refinery or similar complex process facility is required. 
  • Knowledgeable in process safety hazards, assesses process safety risks, and develops mitigation strategies.   
  •  Ability to communicate effectively and understand the importance of feedback in communication.

2. Associate Operators

Job Summary:

The Production Operator is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our Escravos and Agbami FPSO oil and gas facilities. This includes operating and monitoring process vessels and ancillary equipment, which involves production, processing, loading, storage, and ballasting operations.

The role requires continuous monitoring and addressing/responding to plant and equipment issues, managing control room operations, and handling process boundaries. Performing routine operator duties, interfacing with experienced control room operators and maintenance personnel to ensure all equipment is available for startup or properly secured after shutdown.

The scope of work also includes operating and monitoring gas compression and glycol systems, water and gas injection systems, and executing offloading procedures as required.  

Additionally, the Production Operator is responsible for ensuring all subcontractors are properly permitted and monitored for adherence to safe working practices and company protocols within the assigned area of responsibility. 

Requirements:

  • BSc/ HND/ OND (Second Class Honours, Upper Division/Upper Credit) in Engineering or applied sciences disciplines.  
  • 0-4 years’ relevant post-graduation experience in oil & gas production/processing operations or in a heavy industrial process driven environment, performing operational tasks. 
  • Knowledge of oil and gas production systems and equipment.
  • Ability to operate and maintain production equipment. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of safety procedures and regulations.

3. Reliability Specialist

Job Summary

his role leads equipment reliability improvement efforts for assets associated with oil and gas extraction, processing and shipment.  Leverages industry standards, reliability work process to investigates root causes of equipment failures.

Develops failure modes and effects for equipment and establishes key performance indicators which benchmarks equipment performance against world-class standards in reliability and availability.  Analyzes data, performs reliability studies and trains/mentors operations and maintenance personnel in reliability work processes.  

Requirements:

  • BSc/ HND (Second Class Honours, Upper Division/Upper Credit) in Engineering. 
  • Successfully completed training as a maintenance technician within the Oil and Gas or petrochemical industry.  
  • Completed training in the maintenance craft trade/technical field e.g. Mechanical Technician, Rotating Equipment Field Service Rep. (FSR).
  • 5 – 15 years relevant post-graduation or equivalent post apprenticeship onsite experience preferably in the oil and gas industrial or engineering production company.

4. Rotating Equipment Specialist

Job Summary

The Rotating Equipment Specialist Role installs, tests, inspects, maintains, repairs, overhauls and calibrates mechanical rotating equipment, ensuring the equipment is maintained in compliance with Chevron procedures and Industry standards.

The role is also responsible for equipment safety, inventory management and ensuring the System of Record remains updated with relevant maintenance related information. 

Requirements

  • BSc/HND (Second Class Honours, Upper Division/Upper Credit) in Mechanical Engineering. 
  • Successfully completed training as a Mechanical technician within the Oil and Gas or Petrochemical Industry.  
  • Completed training in the mechanical craft trade/technical field e.g. Mechanical Technician, Rotating Equipment Field Service Representative. (FSR).
  • 5 – 15 years relevant post-graduation or equivalent post apprenticeship onsite experience maintaining above mentioned equipment in heavy industries such as oil and gas, chemicals, refineries, etc., preferably in the oil and gas industry.

5. Operators

Job Summary

Responsible for the proactive monitoring of the processes and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations of oil and gas facilities. This could involve production, processing, loading, storage and ballasting operations as well as continuous monitoring and addressing/responding to plant/equipment issues.

Job Summary

Requirements

  • BSc/ HND/OND (Second Class Honours, Upper Division/Upper Credit) in Engineering is desirable; however, a degree with applicable technical industry experience within the instrument discipline may be considered.  
  • Successfully completed training as an Instrument technician within the Oil and Gas or petrochemical industry.  
  • Completed training in the instrument craft trade/technical field, e.g. Instrument Technician, Instrument Fire and Gas or Controls technician. 
  • 5 -15 years post-graduation experience in a heavy industry environment (Oil and gas, refining, chemical plants, pulp/paper plants, etc.) as instrument technician.
  • Fire & gas and controls technician experience will be an added advantage secondary.

9. EGTL Turnaround Planning Advisor

Job Summary

This role involves overseeing the planning and execution of Turnaround Maintenance activities in line with Chevron’s Integrated Maintenance Planning and Turnaround (IMPacT) Process. Provides expert evaluation of critical path work activities and constructability reviews.

The position leads schedule optimization workshops to streamline durations, collaborates effectively in a team environment, shares information, mentors and coaches team members to enhance organizational capabilities.

Requirements

  • BSc/HND (Second Class Honours, Upper Division/Upper Credit) in any Engineering discipline. 
  • Project Management certification.
  • Minimum 10 years combined experience in a complex process facility comprised of Engineering, Maintenance, Projects and Turnarounds.  
  • Supervisory experience, understanding how to lead and motivate employees, provide feedback for growth and mentor for development. 
  • Project Management experience specific to Turnaround Maintenance.

10. EGTL Turnaround Planner

Job Summary

This role is responsible for developing work orders with detailed instructions including drawings, and P&IDs. Other responsibilities include purchasing necessary materials for each job, performing field walks, and creating detailed estimates while understanding the interrelationships between job activities.  

The position collaborates with multidisciplinary work groups to gather and share information for comprehensive work plans. Additionally, the role involves working with the Scheduler to integrate job steps and define logical connections between various jobs.  

Requirements

  • BSc/HND (Second Class Honours, Upper Division/Upper Credit) in Engineering. 
  • Project Management certification or equivalent on the job experience. 
  • Minimum 5 years maintenance experience in a Refinery or similar complex process facility.

11. Control System Specialist

Job Summary

The Control Systems Specialist installs, tests, inspects, maintains, repairs, overhauls and programs equipment control systems, ensuring the equipment is maintained in compliance with Chevron procedures and Industry standards.

The role is also responsible for equipment safety, inventory management and ensuring the System of Record remains updated with relevant maintenance related information. 

Requirements

  • BSc/ HND (Second Class Honours, Upper Division/Upper Credit) in Engineering.
  • Successfully completed training as a control systems engineer/specialist within the Oil and Gas or petrochemical industry.  
  • Completed in depth equipment specific training in instrument/controls control systems e.g. Yokogawa/Honeywell/Allen-Bradley and served in Controls Technician/Engineer, Control systems Field Service Rep. (FSR) roles.
  • Knowledge and application of industry standards such as IEEE, NEC, IEC, etc. 
  • 5 -15 years relevant experience post-graduation in heavy industry environment (Oil and gas, refining, chemical plants, pulp/paper plants, etc.).
